This is a new five story office building for the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA), located in downtown Madison. Floors 1 & 2 consist of core and shell space for future tenants, with the addition of a large training center and fitness area located on the first floor. Floors 3 through 5 consist of open office space, individual offices, and meeting rooms for the WHEDA staff. As a design build partner on this project we are responsible for all electrical engineering, design, and construction for a new electrical service, tenant metering, branch power, lighting, fire alarm, security and access control, with a diesel generator located on the penthouse level.

This new 62,000 square foot building located in The American Center Business Park on Madison’s East Side is for Ascendium, a student loan processing company. This design/build project has a near-complete glass exterior. This creates challenges to provide all of this three-story office building’s power and data needs, while maintaining a clean architectural appearance. The multiple collaboration rooms take advantage of extensive Audio/Video systems, including motorized shades and N-light lighting control system integration. This is a state of the art office facility like no other.

Utilizing our Prefab department, we easily completed the 4-month phased schedule on time. Extensive value engineering to the lighting design allowed the project to be completed under budget.

Campus One is home for the company’s administrative staff, as well as their team of technology associates. In addition to the offices, the project included conference rooms with full AV capabilities, an auditorium, and a geothermal heating/cooling system. One of the buildings serves as a campus commissary that includes a full kitchen and dining facilities. This project consists of a 335,000 square-foot Learning Center used to train customers from the health care industry on the use of the owner’s software applications, as well as a 5,500 seat auditorium used for company meetings, presentations, and the owner’s annual Users Group Meeting.

The project included 36 training rooms with electrified floor and full AV capabilities, eight break rooms, 140 offices, four conference rooms, a full kitchen and server, escalators, and elevators. The scope of work included underground utilities, site and egress lighting, standby diesel generation, power, lighting, low voltage systems, and voice/data/fiber optic cabling: AV, Sound, CCTV, and CATV cabling, lighting control systems, theatrical lighting system, and theatrical AV system.

Campus Two joins Epic’s existing Campus One on the headquarters site. Building K is a 3-story, 171,866 square-foot building that houses 415 offices, a 225-person meeting room, and the central energy plant that serves all of Campus Two. In addition, the campus includes three 160,000 square-foot office buildings and a 752,000 square-foot, 2,080-stall underground parking ramp. The central energy plant in Building K holds the pumps, controls, and other equipment for the geothermal system that heats and cools Campus Two.

This expansion reshaped the fan-shaped Epicenter auditorium into a full circle. The expansion created additional space for new training rooms, which are used to train the client’s customers on the use of the client’s award winning medical records software.
