How did you get into the electrical field, and what’s kept you here?
A: I am new to both the electrical field and construction, but honestly I feel like I have hit the ground running with safety. I credit this to how closely I align with Westphal & Company’s core values.
What’s something people outside the trade don’t realize about staying safe on the job?
A: How subjective safety is. Most people want to be safe, they just take their safety for granted. In the trade, everyone values being safe because of the apparent dangers associated with the job.
What stands out to you about how Westphal & Company/Globalcom Technologies approaches safety?
A: Westphal & Company’s approach to safety is what I have been looking for. Working with people in the field, understanding the work they are performing, and building relationships. My team has been incredibly helpful since starting my career here.
Q: Why are you proud to work in safety?
A: Safety is something people take for granted, so bringing extra awareness to an, at times neglected subject, is rewarding. Personally, I enjoy training employees, getting to understand their concerns, and engaging with them to better understand their level of experience in their trade and their overall safety awareness.
