Youth Apprentice Signing Day 2025

This week, we kicked off summer with our third annual Youth Apprenticeship Signing Day—an exciting new tradition within our long-standing Youth Apprenticeship Program.
We welcomed a group of students into our program who are ready to learn, grow, and gain hands-on experience and mentorship from skilled Westphal electricians — offering a real glimpse into careers in electrical construction.

This year’s program includes students: Andrew Frank (Janesville Craig High School), Brody Jensen (Evansville High School), Gabriel Kraft (McFarland High School), DJ Nicholson (Milton High School), Joaquin Perez-Rodriquez (Innovative High School), Ayden Schaalma (Oregon High School), Talan Schoeneberg (Poynette High School), Jack Stensaas (Monona Grove High School), Abram Stortz (Waunakee High School), Rayden Taylor (Belleville High School), and Trey Zurawik (Oregon High School).

We’re excited to welcome such a driven group!

Within our prefab department, they will learn to safely use tools, assist with basic electrical work, as well as gain valuable experience on job sites. Thanks to Viking Electric, each youth apprentice received a tool kit filled with essential Klein tools on Signing Day—giving them the equipment they need to dive straight into hands-on learning.
Beyond technical skills, our youth apprentices develop strong communication and time-management abilities, growing into confident and engaged team members. Many find their niche in the trades and go on to pursue the Apprentice program, become Construction Wiremen or Electricians, or continue their education and certifications to advance their careers.

Investing in youth apprenticeships lets our team share their expertise — while students explore, learn, and find their spark!
