Job Summary:
The BIM Detailer – Electrical is responsible for developing detailed, accurate Building Information Models (BIM) and construction drawings for electrical systems. This role supports project coordination, fabrication, and installation by producing high-quality 3D models and documentation that align with project specifications, codes, and schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain detailed 3D BIM models of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
- Produce coordinated shop drawings, layout drawings, and installation details from BIM models.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure constructability and accuracy.
- Participate in clash detection and coordination meetings with other trades (mechanical, plumbing, structural).
- Update models and drawings based on RFIs, change orders, and field conditions.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Assist with prefabrication efforts by generating spool drawings and material takeoffs.
- Maintain organized project files and adhere to company BIM standards and workflows.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in electrical drafting, detailing, or BIM modeling.
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and construction practices.
- Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.

- Office-based with occasional site visits.
- Collaborative team setting with engineers, project managers, and field personnel.
