Job Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of the Safety and Health Program for the company. The primary responsibility is to maintain a safe and productive work environment to influence and improve an acceptable Experience Modification Rate (EMR), Incident Rate (IR), and Days Away of Restricted Time Rate (DART).
Essential Duties:
- Ensure that all company safety policies and procedures are followed and enforce those policies.
- Ensure the company follows all OSHA regulations.
- Investigate all accidents, illnesses, and near misses in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Document and record all accidents and illnesses in accordance with OSHA regulations.
- Report all accidents and illnesses to the insurance company and insurance agency.
- Maintain knowledge of the status of all open workers compensation cases and communicate this to supervisor, insurance company, and insurance agency.
- Implement and maintain continued awareness of the Light Duty Program to injured employees, treating physicians and insurance agency.
- Implement and maintain the company’s Safety Incentive Program and educate employees on same.
- Implement and maintain the company’s Fleet Safety Program and educate employees on same.
- Conduct, record, and keep records of all OSHA required safety trainings.
- Implement and maintain the company’s annual mobile equipment inspections, certifications, and documentation program.
- Conduct Job Site Safety Inspections and record and communicate results.
- Maintain a constant chemical inventory to provide updated MSDS data.
- Implement and maintain the Crisis Management Policy and educate employees on same.
Ancillary Responsibilities include:
- Maintain a suitable safety equipment inventory at all company branches.
- Maintain all safety prequalification websites.
- Distribute OSHA required weekly toolbox talks.
- Implement, maintain, and inspect all company mitigation plans, permits and pre-task planning documentation.
- Research, develop, and implement office ergonomic solutions.
- Maintain a matrix detailing the status of employee training and future training required.
- Assist in the identification of productivity concerns and issues.
- Attend seminars and safety update classes to remain current with all OHSA and other safety regulations.
- Maintain the biannual voltage rated glove exchange program.
- Specify the make and model of all company ladders and ensure their use in the company.

Education and Experience:
- B.S. Occupational and Environment Health Safety.
- Other Construction emphasis degrees.
- OSHA 10, 30 or 500 Certifications.
- Equivalent relative experience.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to alternate between sitting and standing in a general office environment. Travel to other offices or job sites will be required. Ability to navigate construction job sites with or without accommodation.
Location:
This is a full-time position and attendance is required at the main office located in Madison, WI.
