Job Summary:       

This position is responsible for administering, managing, and supporting the VP with strategic initiatives.  The Marketing Specialist will coordinate with the VP of Preconstruction, working with Executives, Project Managers, and Estimators, to build backlog and promote branding across all divisions of the company. This position will also focus on creating, implementing, and updating internal and external communications.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate with VP Preconstruction to develop, implement, and execute marketing plans with market sector leaders across all divisions of the Company; then execute leveraging CRM
  • Drive the proposal submission process and coordinate with technical staff to create/edit proposals and presentations to win work
  • Develop text and graphics for brand and style guidelines and maintain them
  • Develop and upgrade the design of company materials for internal and external communications, i.e. branded campaigns, newsletters, collateral, pitches, press releases, social media, and website assets
  • Catalog networking opportunities, coordinate participation in, and attend industry associations, attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows

Marketing

  • Develop new content for company intranet and websites, social media sites, and marketing materials
  • Maintain photo library and coordinate photographer for project photos and employee headshots
  • Attend department meetings and marketing-related events to learn about the construction industry
  • Create brand continuity and educate the company on standards and proper usage
  • Research and apply for Project Awards. Help devise, write, position, layout, and submit entries
  • Assist in the identification of industry trends and market conditions
  • Purchasing and managing promotional products

Proposals & Responses to Requests for Information

  • Work both independently and with proposal teams to respond to client requests/solicitations using InDesign
  • Develop proposal schedule to ensure response is submitted in a timely manner. Assign appropriate team members as needed to assist with proposal
  • Prepare outlines, storyboards, and other related proposal tools
  • Prepare qualifications information, including project listings, resumes, and relevant financial information to meet RFP requirements
  • Coordinate proposal reviews with Project Executives and VP Preconstruction
  • Assist in creating media we will use when making presentations to customers for project awards.

Business Development

  • Help identify and assess business development opportunities within the company’s targeted market sectors and attend events as appropriate. This includes lectures, events, and philanthropic activities.
  • Support the overall Get Work Strategies for each market segment, through reoccurring meetings with VP Preconstruction and Project Executives
  • Assist in the identification of industry trends and market conditions, by checking in with your growing network, attending SMPS meetings, and through independent market analysis
  • Track, monitor, and maintain a Sales Pipeline through CRM System, leveraging data to improve marketing efforts and generate leads

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with event planning
  2. Create PowerPoint presentations for internal training
  3. Enter and maintain accurate information in CRM system
  4. Create and publish internal company newsletter
  5. Create customer feedback surveys, collect the responses, and create reports in order to analyze the data.
  6. Create employee satisfaction surveys

Required Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to effectively use Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft Office. Must be a creative, energetic, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Ability to work with a variety of individuals and professional levels in a team environment. Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively, both written and verbal, with various team members. Creative writing skills preferred.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English or related field. Two years of experience in marketing.  Knowledge of construction industry is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to alternate between sitting and standing in a general office environment.  Some travel to other offices or job sites may be required.

Location:

This is a full-time position with hybrid work out of the main office located in Madison, WI or at one the satellite offices (currently) in Pewaukee, Janesville or Dubuque as required.
